Price models

A price model determines how a price for a category or booking is calculated. Exactly one price model can be assigned to each category. A booking can consist of several items from different categories. The My Rental The app offers volume pricing models and tiered prices.

Volume pricing model

With the volume pricing model, prices can be set depending on the booking duration.

Example scenario:

The mountain bike category is assigned the price model below, with a tiered calculation. A customer rents two mountain bikes for 10 days. The price is calculated as follows:

  • 10 (days) * 2 (units) * €12 = €240
  • Total price: €240
TierPrice per unit of time (day) and tier
up to 7 days€15
from 8 to 14 days€12
15 days or more€10

Tiered prices

Alternatively, prices can also be calculated in tiers. This means that the rental period is divided into the price tiers. In general, this calculation leads to higher prices.

Example scenario:

The mountain bike category is assigned the price model below, with a tiered calculation. A customer rents two mountain bikes for 14 days. The price is calculated as follows:

  • Tier 1: 7 (days) * 2 (units) * €15 = €210
  • Tier 2: 7 (days) * 2 (units) * €12 = €168
  • Total price: €378
TierPrice per unit of time (day) and tier
up to 7 days€15
from 8 to 14 days€12
15 days or more€10
